From IDP to AIDP: Evolving Your Platform for the Machine Learning Age

Internal Developer Platforms have spent the last few years getting good at shipping cloud native workloads. Now we need to teach them a new trick: machine learning. This talk walks through what it actually takes to evolve an IDP into an AIDP — from runtime concerns (GPUs, model serving, eval harnesses) to the developer experience teams expect when they're shipping models, not just services. We'll look at where the IDP playbook still applies, where it breaks, and the patterns I'm seeing work across teams adopting GenAI in production.
